Victoria Peak, standing 552 metres high, is the tallest hill on Hong Kong Island and the source of the city's most famous view. Visitors typically ride up on the historic Peak Tram, which opened in 1888, or reach it by bus and car along a winding mountain road.

At the top stands the Peak Tower, an unmistakable building shaped like a bowl or wok, designed by British architect Terry Farrell and reopened in its current form in 1997 after a major redevelopment. The tower houses restaurants, shops and entertainment venues, and on its roof sits the open-air Sky Terrace 428, offering a full 360-degree panorama of Victoria Harbour, the city skyline and the surrounding islands.

The Peak is especially popular at sunset, when the skyscraper lights gradually turn the view into a dazzling night scene, making it a stop few visitors to Hong Kong skip.
